I started my photographic adventure
back in February 1993 with a Canon Megazoom 105 with an
intention of photographing my home town of Bolton.
In November of that year, I joined Chorley Photographic Society
where I started to win competitions
and have my work accepted at national level.
In 1999, I attained my CPAGB, being the first in history to achieve
this using a compact camera and
the following year I managed to finish fifth overall in Amateur
Photographer's 'Amateur Photographer
of the Year', by which time I owned a Minolta Dynax 404si SLR.
In 2003, I made the final twelve in BBC One's 'Countryfile'
photographic competition with my work
being printed in the Children In Need calendar and in the Radio
Times. Since then, I've had my work
printed in various publications, some of the Green Party's
literature to note.
I moved to Havant, Hampshire in 2006 and now live with Tanya (she's
that bit more special than me,
she has her own gallery on JustMono). Later that year, I bought my
first DSLR, a Sony A100K and have
enjoyed successes with Havant Camera Club, although I've opted out
of camera club photography
for the time-being.
