Ian first became interested in photography at the age of 15 (1968) when his physics
teacher made a darkroom at school and taught monochrome printing. In the intervening
years he drifted in and out of photography - doing time as a wedding photographer,
a stint in an industrial photography unit, gaining a photography 'A' level, an ARPS
in portraiture, and supporting local photographic societies.
Ian particularly enjoyed monochrome printing. Since losing his darkroom, he has worked
solely in digital, and has become somewhat blasé about his own photography.
