'lonely eater' by brian tompkins

I bought my first Leica at the tender age of twenty two,
it was a 111g and the only lens I could afford was the 50mm f2.8 Elmar. Since
then I have as most photographers do been seeking a re-placement. I still have a
111g but I did move on to the M series cameras. So, for some forty two years I
have been seeking a re-placement, something better, something more versatile.
The odd SLR has been acquired but after a very short while I go back to the
simple rangefinder. The point is I love simplicity, the bag stuffed with loads
of lenses and gadgets is just not for me. Hence I tend to take quiet
photographs....quietly. This picture of the guy at breakfast is an example, he
hadn't got a clue he was being photographed; now try that with a modern giant
SLR with a 20-300mm lens fitted with one of those silly 'tulip' shaped hoods.
But I don't suppose my search will stop, well not until the digital M arrives.
