Highgate Graves by Clive Rowley
.
This was photographed a
couple of week ago in Highgate Cemetery, London. It was a clear October
afternoon with the
low afternoon sun picking out features in the shaded and overgrown depths of the
cemetery, which is perhaps best known
as the final resting place of Karl Marx.
I used a Nikon D2X digital
SLR and spot metered onto the central gravestone. This produced the tones
seen
above and emphasised by the use of a software programme which
mimics the use of a red filter in front of the lens at the taking stage.
