An image created following a visit to Hidcote Manor, Gloucestershire, in the
late summer of last year. Although the gardens were full of colour at that time
of year I felt that the many shades of green present in the scene would lend
themselves nicely to the infrared treatment in monochrome.
Even though the harshness of the grain in the film does not exactly add to the
serenity of the garden it nevertheless creates a strangely magical, almost
fairytale atmosphere.
Nikon F3, 24mm W/A lens, Kodak high-speed infrared film rated at 1000ASA,
exposure approximately 1/125th sec. @ f11. Deep red filter fitted.
