'four madeirans' by clive rowley
Taken in Funchal, Madeira on a sunny Saturday morning in May 2004. A camera brought up to eye level can alert subjects, and the innocence is lost. These four men were enjoying the morning sun and each were posing in a different way. This was a quick "grab shot" taken when the milling crowds were not between camera and subjects. The waist level viewfinder of the 35 year old Rolleiflex ensured that the subjects were not made uncomfortable by the photographer.
